Mini Monet Artworks

One 5th grade class was a week behind due to a snow day. So we did a quick one day min Monet drawing using oil pastels. I had a table full of Monet images, they had to choose one, and replicate a similar artwork using Monet's Impressionistic style. They glued on a gold fancy frame when finished and I had them laminated. The turned out great and were a great addition to the Monet hallway!!!

Mini Monet Magnets

After creating a large Monet Mural, each 4th grader made a mini Monet painting. These are painted on tiny pieces of wood that were donated to the school. Modge Podge was painted over the top to seal the paint. A magnet was added to the back to be used for refrigerator art! These were finished just in time for Christmas gifts if they chose!

Monet Bridge Reflections

5th graders also studied Monet and Impressionism. They created art like Monet's famous Bridge over a pond of lilies. They folded their paper to create the bridge reflection in the water while the gold paint was still wet. I got this idea from Marymaking.blogspot.com!

Monet Mural

4th graders learned about Monet and Impressionism through power point then they each created a Monet pond w/water lilies. They were displayed close together to look like a giant Monet pond!

Dream Snow

First graders read the book, Dream Snow by Eric Carle. We made art like him by painting snowflakes onto transparencies to go over our snowmen!

Melted Crayons

I know I've seen this out there on other blogs, but thoughts I'd post anyways...I made these melted crayons as a little Christmas gift for my nieces and nephews. I'll also make some for my classroom. They are cute and so easy to make!

Forget Waldo, Where is Mrs. Bartolazzi?

I've been out on maternity leave the first 12 weeks of school. My sub started the year off the same way I would have, making a giant Where's Waldo wall. Each student made a mini self portrait to add to the wall. Last year, it said, "Forget Waldo, Where is Mrs. Stelmach?"(our principle)...This year my sub changed it to my name! Very thoughtful of her! She made a cute drawing of me holding my baby. The kids love trying to find themselves, their friends, siblings and even Waldo was added too!
