In Art class, 3rd graders reviewed different types of lines; horizontal, vertical, zigzag, diagonal, dotted, dashed, and curved. They used different types of lines to draw the snowmen that you see.
Next, 3rd graders reviewed the warm colors (red, orange, yellow) and cool colors (blue, green, purple) while painting their artworks.
I have seen this lesson all over Pinterest and am not sure of where the orginal lesson came from. Whom ever you are, thank you!

DeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of paint did you use? I'm assuming you did the background first, then painted on the snowman after it dried?
They used tempera paint. We did paint background first. Next class white paint :)
DeleteSo beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteThese paintings are beyond the capabilities of a 3rd grade student. Great work with such precise details. It seems like some professionals have made these paintings with so much neatness. Keep it up. Great work.
ReplyDeleteThese artist came from my old school. An amazing school with great kids, good listening, awesome talent. I could not get my current school to produce the same. The talent level is just not the same...
DeleteWould you mind sending me the steps I see that you did the background first then the white, did you use any form to help draw the snowman? Are the snowflakes fingerprints?
ReplyDeleteThank you
