4th graders drew self-portraits and concentrated on correct proportions of the face. Next, students turn these self-portraits into astronauts floating in space! They were hung on the ceiling of the school hallway. Nice work 4th grade!
They really aren't that big. The students worked right at their tables. The white paper they drew on is 18x20. They started by tracing their hands and feet in the four corners, then they added the helmet, knee, etc....
Hi Artolazzi, I loved your great idea. I'm trying it out with my older grade students. I'm following your tips and allowing them to trace the hands/feet first. It's working out great so far but I'm going to laminate the whole outfit so the frame opening could be like an artifical glass for the kids to place their self portraits behind it. Hope it works out! Thanks so much!
I love this! I wish I had more floor space to do something like this with my kids. Maybe after school? :)
