  1. Wow! How cute and simple! It's great to be able to share papier mache with students--it's great to make something 3d out of things that wouldl just be thrown away! FUN! Thank you for sharing!

  2. So simple and cute! But after a bad experience with balloons, I'm a little afraid of using them for papier-mache. Why hasn't anyone else had the crazy problem I had? (Late in the afternoon, when the school had emptied except for me, I thought I heard gunshots. One by one the balloons - all covered with wet newspaper still - were popping. I spent an hour blowing up fresh balloons inside of dozens of collapsing balloon shapes! UGH)

What kind of goo did you use for the papier-mache? And did you do a newspaper layer or go straight to the tissue papers?

    1. Phyl I used styrofoam bowls and plastic seran wrapped bowls. Then we used watered down modge podge or glue and water to pain the strips on both sides and smooth down.

    2. So is that the only directions you need, I can't seem to find the instructions. I just needed bowls and modge podge and paper mache and tissue paper?

  3. Wow that is a bad experience Phyl! I use school smart art paste. We did a layer of thin white paper then the tissue over the top (in the same class). I notice at my school where my art room is on the second floor, those balloons lost their air a lot faster than my other school on the first floor. Was it really humid in your room that night??
