Degas Dancers

In Art class, 1st graders learned about the artist Edgar Degas. He loved to painted ballerinas and horses. He also showed movement in his paintings. 1st graders drew ballerinas like Degas and used a dyed coffee filter for the tutu!

  3. I thought I may have some boys complain, but that wasn't the case! They enjoyed it just as much as the girls. I wouldn't do it w/any older than 1st grade though....I also say to the class, Degas was a boy and he painted ballerinas, so we can too!

  6. I did these with my grade 1 students and it went over great! I put them up on a bulletin board together with my grade 6's Edgar Degas art.
