Another school year has started! One of my schools does a big Square 1 Art fundraiser. These are what the students created! First grade; warm/cool color hands. Second grade; tissue collage lady bugs. Third grade; warm/cool color heart paintings. Fourth grade; foam paper prints.
Great post, thanks for sharing! I always love checking out your idea and I've been eagerly waiting for you to start up again for the new year :)
I really like the warm/cool hands. I've seen and used similar projects for older grades, but the idea of tracing hands makes it accessible for lower grades too.
I especially love the 4th grade prints. Did they use one plate that was rotated? I can't quite figure out how the design lined up so symmetrically in four sections.
Thank you for the nice comment! Yes, the warm/cool hands worked well for first grade. I did go around and trace their hands while they used sharpie due to time and the fact that I wanted them to look nice for the fundraiser. :) For the fourth grade prints, they just made doodle designs on the foam paper. They created a design in each corner. They had to decide what the center would be and rotate the print around always keeping the center in the center. Hope this makes sense. The prints only match up in the center, not at the edges....
I am intrigued with the foam paper prints. Do you have a lesson plan for these or could you give me some guidance on how to recreate these? Very cool project! thank you

ReplyDeleteThat makes sense... I was visualizing having to flip the plate (duh). Thanks for clearing that up!
